Members of the Merton V. Hair Post of the American Legion, with members from Early and Nemaha, recently added a drop box for worn and tattered U.S. Flags.
The drop box is located in front of the Early City Hall by the door to the Legion Post. The Legion invites community members to bring their old flags to the drop box for appropriate disposal of these items. The Merton V. Hair Post is located in the lower level of the Early Community Building.
The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, made up of American wartime veterans and their families. Legion posts make significant contributions to veterans and local communities. There are nearly 15 thousand American Legion posts worldwide consisting of nearly three million community members worldwide.
