A meeting regarding the future of the Storm Lake Marina near Casino Beach will be held this (Thur) evening at 6pm at Lake Avenue Lounge in Storm Lake.
The meeting was originally scheduled for last Thursday, but was postponed due to snowy weather.
The public is invited to attend this (Thur) evening to learn the current status of the marina, get information regarding due diligence of the local subcommittee that’s been involved in the process, and to learn the next steps. A presentation will be unveiled which will include four future uses of the marina, three of which involve Buena Vista County hiring a 3rd party vendor to operate some or all aspects of the marina. A portion of the meeting will be to gauge interest of 3rd parties that may want to run various segments of the marina.
BV County and the Iowa DNR have been having discussions to allow the marina, which is currently owned by the state, to be transferred to county ownership.
