A Marathon man was arrested on multiple drug charges this past weekend.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest was made shortly before 11pm Saturday in Peterson. A deputy pulled up beside a truck at the gas pumps at Main and 2nd Streets and noticed an open container in the passenger side cup holder. Upon investigation, deputies noticed that the passenger, 34-year-old Nicholas Skog, had an item that turned out to be a pipe that was sticking out of his pants. Deputies also saw plastic sticking out of his boxers, which was determined to be drugs, later identified as ecstasy pinched in a beer cap. Deputies also found a baggie of methamphetamine during a further patdown.
Skog was arrested and booked into the Clay County Jail without incident. He was charged with 3rd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine, 3rd Offense Possession of Ecstasy, and Drug Tax Stamp Violation, all class D felonies…as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Open Container, both simple misdemeanors.
