One driver was seriously injured in a crash involving two trucks over the weekend in O’Brien County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened shortly after 10:40 Saturday morning just north of Highway 18 between Hartley and Sanborn. 61-year-old Jeffrey Gerritson of Sanborn was driving a truck eastbound on 310th Street. Gerritson failed to yield at an uncontrolled intersection, and collided with a truck going north on Tanager Avenue driven by 55-year-old Kevin Gonnerman of Sanborn.
Gonnerman was transported to the Sanford Medical Center in Sheldon, and was then airlifted to a hospital in Sioux Falls to be treated for serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
