An Odebolt man was sentenced last Thursday in Sac County District Court to serve ten years in prison for sexually exploiting a minor.
42-year-old Nick Pierce was convicted on a charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a class C felony. He entered an Alford plea to the offense back on July 20th.
According to a criminal complaint, on April 8th of this year, Pierce sent revealing photos of himself in his bedroom through Snapchat to a 16-year-old male. Pierce also attempted to coerce the 16-year-old into sending sexual pictures back to him in exchange for money. The victim stated that Pierce was willing to send anywhere between 200 and 500 dollars in gift cards.
In addition to the ten year prison sentence, Pierce was also permanently placed on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry list. He also received a fine of $1,370, along with surcharges.
The case was investigated by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, and was prosecuted by Sac County Attorney Ben Smith.
