A Des Moines man received a prison sentence this week in Calhoun County District Court for sexually abusing a child.
According to the Calhoun County Attorney’s Office, 20-year-old Matthew Wilson was sentenced to the maximum of ten years in prison after pleading guilty to 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, a class C felony for sexually abusing a 14-year-old child in Lohrville in May of 2023. Another charge of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, as well as a charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse were both dismissed. Along with a ten-year prison sentence, Wilson was placed on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.
The case was investigated by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
