A man was hospitalized late last week as a result of a single-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck in Clay County.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened shortly before 3:40pm Friday just northeast of Spencer. Stanley Hansen of Dickens was driving a 2007 86 hundred International Semi northbound on 240th Avenue negotiating the curve to the left when he lost control and came to rest turned over in the ditch. Hansen was extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means, and was transported to the Spencer Hospital. No charges were filed.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Dickens and Fosteria Fire Departments, Buds Service, and Boji Towing.
