Man Allegedly Killed Pigeons in Storm Lake Disturbance Incident

A Storm Lake man has been arrested after he allegedly killed and injured pigeons.

According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were called to a disturbance at 728 Linden Lane at approximately 8pm last (Thur) night. Police were advised that 40-year-old Alfredo Sanchez Ramos was intoxicated and injured pigeons on the property. Ramos was located walking in the 700 block of Walnut Street. Police allege he showed signs of alcohol intoxication and refused officers’ commands.

Ramos allegedly physically resisted when police tried to arrest him. Two officers received minor injuries. Further investigation revealed that Ramos argued with residents at the Linden Lane address. During the argument, two pigeons that belonged to the residents were killed, and another pigeon was seriously injured.

Ramos was charged with Three Counts of Animal Abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor…Interference With Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor…and Public Intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 73 hundred dollar bond.
