Lytton Man Sentenced to Prison for Involvement in High-Speed Chase

A Lytton man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Carroll last November.

On November 4th of last year, 47-year-old Victor Henry Scalco Jr. stole a pickup truck and gun after allegedly assaulting a victim. Law enforcement attempted to stop Scalco after spotting the truck, but he fled at a high rate of speed. The pursuit ended in a field northeast of Carroll, but Scalco was able to elude police for several hours by fleeing on foot and hiding in a nearby creek.

As part of a plea agreement, Scalco pleaded guilty to unlawful firearm possession by a prohibited person and eluding, both class D felonies…and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was sentenced to up to five years in prison on each felony count and up to two years for the misdemeanor charge. The terms will be served consecutively.
