Local Childcare Provider Kicking Off Capital Campaign Fundraiser Later This Week

The Ready Set Grow non-profit daycare center in Storm Lake is kicking off its first-ever capital campaign fundraiser this Friday.

Ready Set Grow Director Emily Bodholdt spoke at Monday’s Storm Lake City Council meeting. She said the campaign is meant to help in their effort to purchase the spot in which they are currently located, which is the former Hope Haven Community Services Building on West Milwaukee Avenue…

Bodholdt said the building is currently valued at 450 thousand dollars. They relocated to that spot a year ago. She said the actual campaign fundraising goal will soon be determined.

Bodholdt said childcare is an essential part of Storm Lake’s economy…

Bodholdt spoke during the council’s question-and-answer funding request session for outside agencies. Ready Set Grow is requesting ten thousand dollars from the City of Storm Lake.

Ready Set Grow currently provides full-time, part-time, or drop-in childcare services for over 40 kids from birth to five years old from Storm Lake and surrounding areas.
