Less than ten percent of soybeans in Iowa remain to be harvested, according to the USDA Crop Progress Report released Monday.
91 percent of soybeans have been harvested in the state, which is one week ahead of last year, and almost two weeks ahead of the five-year average. 95 percent of northwest Iowa soybeans have been harvested.
68 percent of the state’s corn has been harvested for grain, up from 45 percent last week. Corn harvested for grain is five days ahead of last year, and ten days ahead of the average. Corn harvested in northwest Iowa increased by nearly 30 percent to 74 percent complete.
A quarter of northwest Iowa topsoil has adequate moisture, down from 30 percent the previous week. A third of subsoil in northwest Iowa had adequate moisture, down from 38 percent last week.
