Larrabee Man Pleads Guilty to Meth Charges

A Cherokee County man who conspired to distribute methamphetamine pleaded guilty Tuesday in Sioux City Federal Court.

52-year-old Carl Thompson of Larrabee was convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute Meth. He faces between ten years and life in prison, along with a ten-million-dollar fine, and at least five years of supervised release following any imprisonment.

At the plea hearing, Thompson admitted his involvement in a conspiracy that distributed more than three pounds of meth from December of 2019 through May of 2022. Thompson admitted that he assisted at least six others in obtaining meth from sources in California and Nevada, and then transported it back to Cherokee for further distribution.

Several agencies, including the Cherokee Police Department, investigated the case.
