A man was arrested on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit earlier this week in and around Storm Lake that resulted in speeds of over 100 miles-per-hour.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, an officer attempted to conduct a vehicle stop in the 100 block of West 10th Street at around 11:45 this past Tuesday night. The vehicle was driven by 46-year-old Timothy Connor of Larrabee. Connor allegedly failed to yield to the officer and accelerated, and fled westbound to county road C-49. Storm Lake Police terminated the pursuit of Connor shortly outside of Storm Lake city limits.
Shortly after that, police were notified of a single vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of C-49 and 80th Avenue in Buena Vista County. Police allege that Connor failed to stop at the intersection, lost control of the vehicle, and entered a nearby field that left the vehicle disabled. Connor reportedly fled from the area on foot. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate Connor at that time. Police issued several arrest warrants.
On Thursday evening, Connor was located by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and was taken into custody. He’s been charged with Eluding and Speeding Over 25 Miles-Per-Hour Over The Limit, an aggravated misdemeanor…Driving With a Revoked License, a serious misdemeanor…and Driving While Suspended, Careless Driving, Speeding 55 Or Under Zone 21 Or Over, and Failure to Obey a Stop Sign, all simple misdemeanors.
Connor was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he was booked and held without bond. The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted by the BV and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Offices.
