Juvenile Taken In After Climbing Water Tower

A teenager was taken into custody this week after trespassing on Storm Lake property and climbing a local water tower.

Shortly after 5pm on Tuesday of this week, Storm Lake Police were called to the Water Tower on 521 Ontario Street after it was reported an individual climbed the tower without permission. Once on scene, officers observed a 17-year-old male was atop of the tower and voluntarily came down after speaking with the police. The 17-year-old was then taken into custody and issued a juvenile referral for Trespass to Public Utilities Property, a Class D Felony.

The teen was released to a parent pending an appearance in juvenile court.
