ISU Extension Farmland Lease Meetings Scheduled in the Area

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will hold its annual series of farmland lease meetings in early August.

Gary Wright, a Farm Management Specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach, says the workshops will cover a number of factors, including the latest lease trends with lease rates…

Wright says operating margins and cost of production will also be discussed, along with some legal and tax updates…

The workshops will be held at nine different locations throughout northwest Iowa, including August 1st at 9am at the Aurelia Community Center. Contact the Cherokee or Buena Vista County Extension offices to sign up.

Another workshop will be August 2nd at 9am at the Pocahontas County Extension Office. Register by contacting the Poky Extension Office.

There is a charge of 20-dollars per individual, or 30-dollars per couple for those who sign up at least two days prior to the workshop date. The fee includes the cost of materials. The meetings are approximately two-and-a-half hours in length. All registrants will receive a leasing arrangement book, as well as access to research-based resources from ISU Extension and Outreach.
