Iowa Tourism Expenditures Were Up Last Year

Newly released data shows that tourism-related expenditures in Iowa reached 6.9 billion dollars last year, up 13 percent from 2021.

According to a report from the Iowa Tourism Office, travel-generated state and local tax receipts amounted to 1.1 billion dollars. Tourism accounted for five percent of all jobs in the state with the total number at 68,607. The Tourism Economics study indicates that travel-generated state and local tax receipts added up to 1.1 billion dollars last year.
