Iowa Senator Joni Ernst was making the rounds on her annual 99-county tour around the state. Yesterday (Wed), she made a pit stop in Fonda at Wells Ag Supply to tour the facility plus have a round-table discussion with the CEO, Grant Wells.
During the discussion, Senator Ernst praised the great work that Wells was doing with his company to help the farmers. Ernst opened with a question to CEO Wells on what are some major concerns for farmers.
Chief Operations Officer Megan Hauswirth talked about a mentoring program that the company has in place. Wells latched on explaining that it starts with being self-aware.
Wells also highlighted that many of their employees are under the age of 45. Senator Ernst loved the idea of keeping the youth engaged in the Ag Industry. She thinks it’s important to thrive, not just survive in the business.
