A Pocahontas man was arrested last week after he allegedly displayed a loaded firearm inside a Storm Lake business while intoxicated.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, the incident happened late in the afternoon last Thursday, January 16th. Police were called to The Buckle at 521 Lake Avenue on a report of an intoxicated male inside the business who was visibly carrying a handgun on their person. The man was identified as 45-year-old Jason Scott of Pocahontas. Police allege as they made contact with Scott, he displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and removed a loaded handgun from his waistband. An officer disarmed Scott, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Scott was charged with Carrying a Dangerous Weapon While Under The Influence, a serious misdemeanor…and Public Intoxication, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 23 hundred dollar bond.
