Ice thickness on Storm Lake right now is typically between eight and ten inches, according to the latest information provided by the Iowa DNR.

The report says conditions on Storm Lake are becoming more variable with open areas and seams to watch out for.

For Black Hawk Lake near Lake View, the best ice at seven inches is off of the Ice House Point boat ramp with four inches of snow cover.
