High-Speed Pursuit Lands Sheldon Man in Jail

A man was arrested on multiple charges late last week following a high-speed pursuit in Sheldon.

40-year-old Nathan Silberstein of Sheldon was arrested Friday. He was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of eluding at more than 25 mph over the limit. Police say speeds during the pursuit approached 100 miles per hour at times. According to a criminal complaint, Silberstein nearly hit several people on nearby sidewalks during the pursuit.

Silberstein faces a number of other charges as well, including reckless driving, five counts of speeding, eight stop sign violations, no driver’s license, interference with official acts, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Silberstein was booked into the O’Brien County Jail on a 100-thousand dollar bond.
