A Grinnell man was arrested on several drug-related charges following a traffic stop in Storm Lake over the weekend.
According to the Storm Lake Police Department, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the 500 block of Cayuga Street for a minor traffic violation at approximately 8:30 Saturday night. A Buena Vista County Sheriff K9 was deployed and indicated the presence of marijuana in the vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search and located various marijuana products and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
The driver, 38-year-old Colby Earnhart, was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with 3rd Offense Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, both class D felonies…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Earnhart was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a ten thousand three hundred dollar bond.
The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted by the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office.
