Gowrie Man in Custody in Connection to Death of Teen in Farnhamville

A Gowrie man is in custody in connection to the homicide of a 17-year-old girl in Farnhamville.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney is being held in the Carroll County Jail. According to a criminal complaint, a woman contacted the Calhoun County Sheriff’s office shortly before 11pm Sunday to report her daughter missing. She and her other daughter were out walking and looking for the missing daughter when they came upon Bevers-McGivney, who was “covered in apparent blood” and was in possession of the missing daughter’s scooter and other belongings. Bevers-McGivney allegedly requested to speak to a lawyer when questioned by law enforcement about the blood on his clothes.

The body of the missing girl was found in a cornfield shortly after 9am yesterday (Mon). It’s alleged that Bevers-McGivney intentionally hid the body and failed to disclose the location to conceal the crime. He’s been charged with Abuse of a Corpse and Failure to Disclose Known Location. It’s unclear if any further charges will be issued.

The girl was a student in the Southeast Valley Community School District.
