Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for six counties, including Clay and O’Brien, in response to severe weather that occurred on June 12th.
The proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and Disaster Case Advocacy Program for the affected counties.
The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program provides grants of up to five thousand dollars for households with incomes up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. A grant application can be found on the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management website.
The Disaster Case Advocacy Program addresses serious needs related to disaster-related hardship, injury, or adverse conditions. Contact your local community action agency for more information, or visit iowacommunityaction.org.
