The statewide average for a gallon of unleaded gas is $3.30, according to Triple A Iowa. That’s down about four cents from a week ago, and eight cents lower than a month ago. Last year at this time, a gallon of gas in Iowa was averaging $4.49.
A gallon of gas in Buena Vista County is currently averaging $3.26. Pocahontas County has the cheapest gas in northwest Iowa at $3.13 per gallon.
Diesel in Iowa is currently averaging nearly $3.60 per gallon, which is about a penny higher than a week ago, and six cents higher than a month ago.
Over the weekend, oil industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said consumers may soon see prices at the pump go up due to a rise in oil prices.
