Gas Prices, Already Up Significantly This Week, Could Climb Higher

There’s been a big spike in gas prices this week.

According to Triple A Iowa, the average price for a gallon of unleaded today (Thur) is $3.81, which is up more than 20 cents from Monday. The Buena Vista County average is nearly $3.80. On Monday, BV County was averaging $3.57 per gallon. Iowa gas prices are close to 50 cents higher than they were a month ago.

Diesel statewide is 15 cents higher than Monday, currently averaging $4.00 a gallon. The price of diesel in Iowa has jumped about 40 cents in the last month.
