Five juveniles were arrested last weekend on drug-related charges in Spencer.
At around 10:30 this past Saturday night, a vehicle was stopped for a speeding violation in the 1000 mile of Hwy 18. The odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. The officer found that all the occupants were in possession of marijuana and nicotine vape pens.
Five juveniles were taken into custody, and transported to the Clay County Jail. A 16-year-old male, from Milford, was the driver of the vehicle and was charged with Speeding, Violation of Instruction Permit and Minor in Possession of Tobacco, all simple misdemeanors; and cited into Juvenile Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and was released to the custody of his parents.
The four other passengers including a 17-year-old female from Royal, two 16-year-old males from Milford, and a 17-year-old male from Fostoria were all cited for Minor in Possession of Tobacco, a simple misdemeanor, and were cited into Juvenile Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and were released to the custody of their parents.
The Spencer Police Department assisted in the investigation.
