Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host one of its annual Farmland Leasing Meeting on Tuesday, August 13th from 9 to 11am at the Lohff-Schumann Community Center in Holstein.
The discussion will focus on various methods to determine a fair cash rental rate, and the importance of good tenant and landlord communications. Emphasis will be placed on recent returns to Iowa Cash Rented Land, and the 2024 Iowa Cash Rental Rate Survey. Participants will receive a 100-page booklet and meeting handouts designed to assist landowners, tenants, and other agribusiness professionals with farmland ownership, management, and leasing arrangements. The meeting will last around two hours, and will be facilitated by Alexis Stevens, who is a farm and agriculture business management specialist with ISU Extension.
Preregistration is required by Friday, August 9th. Sign up by contacting either the Ida or Cherokee County Extension offices. The registration fee is 25 dollars per person or 30 dollars per couple, and can be paid at the door.
