An Everly man who was operating a motorcycle died in an accident this (Wed) morning in Clay County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 8:45 this (Wed) morning. 54-year-old Douglas Nielsen of Everly was traveling on a motorcycle eastbound on county road B-24. The motorcycle struck the back of a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Amber Champine of May City. Nielsen was thrown off the motorcycle and was then struck by a westbound vehicle driven by 62-year-old Kenneth Ulatowski of Sheldon.
Nielsen died from injuries sustained in the accident. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer Fire Department and Ambulance, and the Fostoria Fire Department.
