An energy provider is making a sizable donation to the Lake View Community Center project.
Black Hills Energy is giving a 26-thousand dollar gift to the new community center. The donation is a combination of a recent 20-thousand dollar grant, and six-thousand dollars in cash donations throughout the fundraising period.
Black Hills Energy has been a generous supporter of Lake View’s betterment projects over the years, and has been the community’s natural gas supplier since 1991. The gift from Black Hills Energy, combined with several other grants and gifts from the project’s supporters, have raised more than the project’s original goal of over 1.6 million dollars.
The new Community Center is a project from Lake View’s Hometown Pride Committee. The project was originally expected to be done in two phases, but the goal is now to have the entire community center completed in a single phase so it can be operational by the summer of 2024.
