Emergency sewer service line repairs are being made today (Thur) to the west side of the building at 505 Lake Avenue in downtown Storm Lake.
Repairs involve replacement of collapsed sewer line under the street. Lake Avenue northbound traffic lanes adjacent to 505 Lake Avenue will be closed until the street is repaired. Sewer repairs are expected to be completed today (Thur), with the impacted area of the street to be repoured tomorrow (Fri) if possible. Street reopening will depend on concrete cure time.
City of Storm Lake workers have installed barricades, and northbound traffic on Lake Avenue are being diverted around the work area. The southbound lanes of Lake Avenue have remained open in the 500 block.
