A chance to safely dispose of old medications is being offered this coming weekend, and there will be a couple of drop-off locations in the area.
The head of the Iowa Office of Drug Control Policy, Susie Sher, is encouraging everyone to take part in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 28th…
Sher says it also ensures the medications are properly removed…
One of the Drug Take Back events this coming Saturday will be held at the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office from 10am to 2pm. Old medication can also be dropped off at the Spencer Police Department from 11am to 1pm.
National Take Back Days are held every year in the spring and fall.
Sher says in April alone, over 38-hundred pounds of old medication was turned in just in Iowa. Out of all the events held over the years, over 98 tons of unused medications were turned in just in Iowa.
