Driver on Wrong Side of Road Causes Accident in Clay County

Clay County authorities are seeking the public’s help regarding an accident over the weekend that was caused by a car on the wrong side of the road.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened shortly after 3pm Saturday. 32-year-old Nicole Neiderhiser of Spencer was traveling east on a motorcycle in the 22-hundred mile of Highway 18. She reportedly saw a black Buick car driving westbound in the eastbound lane. Neiderhiser swerved to avoid getting struck by the Buick, and she entered the south ditch. She stayed upright until she hit some hard clumpy dirt, and the motorcycle tipped onto its right side.

The Buick left the scene westbound on the highway. Neiderhiser received minor injuries. She stated that the driver of the black Buick was a younger male with blonde hair. Anyone with information regarding this accident is urged to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 712-262-3221.
