Driver Injured Following Collision With Semi in Clay County

A driver was injured following a collision with a semi in Clay County.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at around 1:35 Tuesday afternoon in the 36 hundred mile of county road M-27. Robert Raymer was driving an unspecified 2019 Subaru southbound, crossed the center line, and collided with a northbound Freightliner semi driven by Dustin Vander Bush of Spencer.

Raymer was transported to the Spencer Hospital. Raymer’s vehicle was totaled, while the semi suffered damage to the trailer. There’s no indication of charges being filed.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Everly and Royal Fire Departments, as well as the Iowa State Patrol.
