Disaster Loan Outreach Center Open in Cherokee

The U.S. Small Business Administration has opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Cherokee.

The center opened yesterday (Tues) at the Cherokee County Emergency Management building. The Cherokee location is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm through September 20th. Disaster Loan Outreach Centers are designed to meet the needs of individuals and businesses who were affected by severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds, and tornadoes that occurred in June and July.

Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to two million dollars to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. SBA disaster loans up to 500 thousand dollars are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to 100 thousand dollars to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property, including personal vehicles.

Applicants may apply online and receive additional information at SBA.gov/disaster. The deadline to apply for property damage is October 22nd.
