A northwest Iowa man and his brother from Utah have been arrested on charges associated with the January 6th, 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol.
A press release from the U.S. Department of Justice says 50-year-old Earl Jordan of Dickens and 48-year-old Christopher Jordan of St. George, Utah are charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with felony offenses of assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers and obstruction of law enforcement during a civil disorder. The two men have also been charged with misdemeanor offenses of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.
The FBI arrested Christopher Jordan in St. George, Utah. Earl Jordan was arrested in Spencer.
Federal authorities say that in the 44 months since January 6th, 2021, more than 15 hundred individuals have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including more than 560 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing.
