New Deadline Set for Iowans Impacted by Flooding to Apply for FEMA Assistance

Iowa homeowners and renters affected by recent flooding have until October 22nd to apply for FEMA assistance.

A news release states that the sooner residents apply, the sooner the agency can process a claim. FEMA assistance can provide grants to cover temporary housing, home repairs, and other disaster-related needs. Those who had flood-related damage or storm-caused expenses, and reside in or own a business in counties including Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, and O’Brien can apply.

The U.S. Small Business Administration provides loans to help cover home repairs and other disaster-related needs, along with business impacts. Apply at DisasterAssistance.gov, download the FEMA app, or call 800-621-FEMA.
