Multiple injuries occurred on Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision near Royal.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a 16-year-old juvenile female from Spencer was traveling northbound on 160th Avenue when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with 400th Street. The girl reportedly collided with a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Jean Steen of Sutherland, which caused the vehicle driven by Steen to go into the north ditch where it rolled several times.
Steen and two children in her vehicle were taken to Spencer Hospital, while the 16-year-old driver of the other vehicle sought her own treatment. The juvenile driver was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility.
Both vehicles sustained an estimated ten-thousand dollars in damage.
