Neither the City of Storm Lake nor Buena Vista County has ever received funding from the program. Storm Lake City Manager Keri Navratil said they’ve applied a couple of times previously. If approved, the state pays 75 percent of the cost of a project, and there is a required 25 percent local match. The City of Storm Lake’s preliminary share would be nearly 67 thousand dollars.
