The Storm Lake City Council on Monday approved adopting a downtown assessment report.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority’s downtown resource assessment group was in Storm Lake for a few days in late April. They toured the community, interviewed approximately 90 community leaders, individuals, and groups, and gave a presentation.

A public input online survey administered by the City revealed that the locally owned mix of businesses is considered by most to be the downtown’s greatest strength, but the lack of businesses is the greatest weakness.
