The Storm Lake Public Library is launching a new program.
The “Children’s Yoga and Mindfulness” program will feature three sessions including September 30th, October 21st, and November 4th from 10:30 to 11:45 each of those mornings. Each event will include low-impact exercises, a storybook reading, and a positive message for the young participants. The series is meant for ages four to 11.
The theme for the opening session on September 30th will be “Teachers.” The theme for the October 21st session will be “Parents and Guardians.” The theme for the final session on November 4th will be “Friends and Family.”
The instructor for the program, Kayla Reetz, is an experienced public school teacher and a certified yoga instructor. Reetz has worked with the Yoga In The School Challenge To Change program, specializing in working with toddlers, kids, and teens.
“The Children’s Yoga and Mindfulness” series is made possible by the Friends of the Library Volunteer group. Contact the library for more information on how to be part of the group.
