A new local nonprofit has scheduled a kickoff event for its campaign to open an animal shelter in Storm Lake.
The event for “Caring Paws Rescue” will be held next Wednesday, August 21st from 5 to 7pm at the Lake Avenue Banquet Room. There will be a short presentation at 5:45pm detailing the organization’s goal, plans, mission, and the significant needs the shelter will address. Attendees will be able to meet with the individuals behind the cause, and learn how they support “Caring Paws Rescue.” Organizers will also announce a special gift provided by a generous benefactor, as well as a short program honoring several local individuals who’ve been committed to animals for years. There will also be a light meal and a cash bar.
