A local care coordinator has received an award from UnityPoint Health.
Shannon McKenna, an employee at the UnityPoint Buena Vista Family Medicine Clinic in Storm Lake, is the recipient of an A.C.E. Award. A.C.E. stands for “Always Committed to Excellence.” The award recognizes individuals for at least one specific exemplary action.
McKenna was nominated by Jessica Torruella, who is a clinic supervisor at UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine Buena Vista. Torruella highlighted McKenna for keeping the team’s spirits up by giving them treats every week when the front office was very understaffed. Torruella also said McKenna works diligently to make sure staff members know how important they are to the clinic, regardless of their role.
