There will soon be a new Vice President for Student Success at Buena Vista University.
Jamii Claiborne will take over that position on September 15th. Claiborne is a BVU alum who most recently served as the University’s Associate Dean for Academic Success. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1996 in English and mass communications, and went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Old Dominion University and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Bethel University.
Claiborne will succeed Heath Black, who served as BVU’s Vice President for Student Success for the past two years.
Along with the appointment of Dr. Claiborne, BVU has promoted John Salazar to Associate Dean of Student Success and Residence Life. Mandi Mollring has been promoted to Assistant Dean of Student Success and Student Engagement.
