A boil advisory has been issued for residents in the City of Early.
The Early Municipal Water Supply is experiencing issues with their only working well. Residents are encouraged to boil their water before using it for drinking or cooking due to the risk of bacterial contamination. A Water Emergency has been issued, which means any nonessential use of water is prohibited and water conservation is encouraged.
The water in Early is still safe to use for bathing and similar purposes. City officials encourage residents to bring water to a boil for one minute and let it cool before using it for drinking or cooking.
City officials in Early say once normal operations have been restored there may be air in water piping and the water may be discolored. It’s recommended to run the first water from a faucet that doesn’t have an aerator screen like a bathtub or hose bib. Open the faucet slowly to allow air to escape. Once the water is flowing, allow the faucet to run until it is clear.
Questions can be directed to Early City Hall. City officials will notify residents when the boil advisory has been lifted.
