Most of northwest Iowa, including the Storm Lake area, is under a Winter Storm Watch from tomorrow (Tues) evening until 6am Wednesday.
The National Weather Service says blizzard conditions are possible with snow accumulations up to two inches, and winds gusts up to 60 miles-per-hour, which could especially impact the Wednesday morning commute. This could lead to whiteout conditions that may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Rain is likely along with a potential thunderstorm during the day on Tuesday before transitioning to snow Tuesday night.
Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
