A bishop of the Diocese of Sioux City is celebrating a huge milestone today (Fri). Bishop Walker Nickless is celebrating his 50th anniversary of priestly ordination. Nickless was ordained on August 4th, 1973 at his home parish in Denver at the Blessed Sacrament Church.
Bishop Nickless was ordained the bishop of the Diocese of Sioux City back in January of 2006 at Nativity Church in Sioux City. Bishop Nickless has referenced his brothers, who were also priests, as being good role models for him throughout his ministry.
Bishop Nickless will be celebrating this milestone anniversary with a Mass at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City at 5:30 pm.
