Autumn Heat Wave to Conclude Mid-Week; Frost Possible Next Weekend

The fall heat wave will be coming to an end as this week progresses.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain elevated for a couple more days with highs around 90 today (Mon) in the Storm Lake area, with highs in the low 80’s expected on Tuesday. There are chances for showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday, especially Tuesday night.

High temperatures will fall into the 60’s Wednesday and Thursday, and then into 50’s on Friday. The first widespread frost of the season is possible early Saturday morning as temperatures will fall into the low 30’s. Highs in the upper 50’s are forecast for Saturday, and then expected a rebound into the upper 60’s on Sunday.
