An Aurelia resident was recently crowned Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa 2024.
Lily Schulenberg received the honor at the Miss Rodeo Iowa Pageant in Fort Madison back on August 20th. Schulenberg is a member of the Alta Aurelia FFA. She also received the horsemanship award, the Bob Britton Speech Award in the teen competition, and was the highest seller of the 50/50 raffle tickets.
The 2024 Miss Rodeo Iowa winner is Lillie Longhorn of Ogden. Longhorn succeeds Peterson native Micah Barnes, who was last year’s Miss Rodeo Iowa. Barnes was on hand at the event and participated in some of the contests. Barnes will compete for the Miss Rodeo America title in Las Vegas in December.
The Miss Rodeo Iowa competition was held over a two-day period. Candidates were judged on horsemanship, interviews, public speaking, and modeling. One of the judges was Joanne Blair of Lake City.
