The 5th annual Storm Lake Blue Blood Drive is scheduled for this coming Monday, January 8th from 11am to 4:30pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 1614 West 5th Street.
Blue Blood Drives are held every year during National Law Enforcement Week. The LifeServe Blood Center partners with local police forces each year to allow community donors to show support for law enforcement by donating blood. LifeServe and the tri-state chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors will be hosting blood drives next week across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
The local Blue Blood Drive is being hosted by the Storm Lake Police Department and Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office. 52 units of blood were collected at last year’s event.
Area residents can schedule an appointment for Storm Lake’s Blue Blood Drive by visiting www.lifeservebloodcenter.org, call 800-287-4903, or text the word “lifeserve” to 999-777.
