Applications Open for Iowa Lakes Corridor Development’s Homegrown Talent Initiative Grants

The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is now taking applications for the new Homegrown Talent Initiative Grant Program.

The Homegrown Talent Initiative is a new program by the Corridor to encourage former students of the region’s schools to come back to the Corridor region and fill high-quality jobs that are available. Grant recipients will receive six-thousand dollars paid over four years to be used toward student loan repayment, mortgage payments, or childcare reimbursement.

To apply or get more information, visit www.lakescorridor.com/homegrown. Applications will be accepted until January 31st. Eligibility requirements include graduating within the Corridor region of Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, and Emmet counties…currently living in or moving to a Corridor community…work for a Corridor business…have graduated college in the last five years…and have proof of student loan, mortgage, or childcare debt and expenses.

The Corridor hosted its first annual Homegrown Talent Initiative Golf Tournament in Spencer this past August. The proceeds raised provided funds for the first grants to be awarded in the Spring of 2025.
